Gay life on Samui is smaller, less exuberant than most other Thai destinations, still there is plenty happening with gay bars, disco, cabaret, island tours and as the regional spa capital, massage and body treatments. The center of gay day/nightlife is along Chaweng Beach Road. At the north end opposite Nora Beach Resort is the Emerald Green Mens Club a well-established gay only spa for a range of quality massage techniques and treatments. Mekkala Men Spa promise to rejuvenate you and Rainbow Scuba & Tour for a paradise island adventure. Tropical Garden Lounge Resort and Fisherman’s Village are favourites. In south Chaweng, Tropical Fah Samui for massage and wellness treatments and opposite the Centara Resort is Boy Zone a smart gay bar with a nightly dance show at 11.30 pm and take away staff. Further out of Chaweng in Cheong Mon, close to Sala Samui is Saiwon Mens Spa men only massage and body treatments. From midnight to 2 pm Thai and Farang gays head to Green Mango and Sweet Soul disco/bars in central Chaweng for a diet of loud music and mixed crowds. On Lamai Beach, close to Grandfather and Grandmother Rock, is The Dinky Rock hotel, bar and massage. The Five Islands Restaurant is a favourite.
